Biography

Ditte Marie Lindhardt Saunte is an associate professor in Dermatology, Zealand University Hospital, Roskilde and Department for Clinical Medicine, Health Faculty, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. She obtained a PhD degree on Dermatophytes epidemiology and establishing an animal model in 2008. In 2013 she was certified as a Dermato-venerologist.
Associate professor Saunte has been a board member of the Nordic Society for Medical Mycology (NSMM) since 2004, and since 2014 the Vice-president. During 2011-13 she has served as a NSMM delegate on the executive organizing committee Trends in Medical Mycology (TIMM) 6 in Copenhagen and she was on the organizing committee for international scientific committee for TIMM 7 in Lisbon. She has been the Co-Chair of European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) since 2015. In 2020 she was elected as EADV board member. She has since 2011 been the chair of the guidelines on superficial fungal infections committee for the Danish Dermatologist Society.
Currently, Ditte Marie Saunte is an associate professor and course organizer (chair) of Dermatology, University of Copenhagen where she is responsible for the Dermatology course and for the supervision of bachelor and Master’s Thesis and PhD students.

Associate professor Saunte is the author of three book chapters and 65 papers, four guidelines, and more than one hundred presentations including one honorary lectures and 35 invited lectures to international conferences. Her main research areas are superficial fungal infections and hidradenitis suppurativa.
