MARIE-PIERRE HAYETTE

Marie-Pierre Hayette, Professor in Microbiology at the University of Liège (Belgium). Clinical Microbiologist at the University Hospital of Liège. Director of the Belgian National Reference Centre for Mycoses and Head of the Mycology unit at the University Hospital of Liège.
My activities are divided in three parts. Teaching to students in medical, pharmaceutical, biomedical and public health sciences at the University of Liège but also to postgraduates in the Belgian medical mycology course. My clinical activities include laboratory validations and clinical advices. My research domain is focused on Dermatophytes (epidemiology, development of new diagnostic tools, typing). A more recent research topic concerns Cryptococcosis in HIV patients living in low income countries.
